FUTURE of LIGHT 2025
A Day of Innovation, Inspiration and Connection
On the 25th of September 2025, our event “FUTURE of LIGHT 2025” took place in Basel, a day dedicated entirely to the future, AI, technology, latest developments and of course: LIGHT.
Participants from across the lighting industry joined us to exchange ideas, discover innovations, and discuss the latest developments and trends.
An inspiring start to the day
After a warm welcome by Markus and Rebecca Hegi, Dalith Steiger opened the day with her keynote “AI is not a dream. AI is a decision.”
She delivered a powerful message on how artificial intelligence is already transforming our daily work and the opportunities it brings for lighting design.
The morning continued with insightful presentations by Stefan Danielak (Sonepar Germany), Fabio Tamborrini (RELUX) and Robert Heinze (RELUX), who explored how automation, OEM solutions, and data-driven processes are shaping the lighting of tomorrow.
From solar cars to data services
After lunch, Louis Palmer captivated the audience with his keynote “Around the world in a solar car," taking us on a fascinating journey around the world - an inspiring example of what passion, innovation, and sustainable energy can achieve.
In the afternoon, the program split into two focus tracks:
- Marketing & Sales, featuring presentations by Fabio Tamborrini, Frank Wicht (Eastern Graphics), and Klaus Heiss.
- Technology & Development, where Alexander Glenn, Matthias Wiss, Cristiano Guarnaschelli, and Thorsten Frank showcased how AI, data management, BIM, and the new GLDF format are transforming the daily work of manufacturers.
Discussion, networking, and new perspectives
The event concluded with a lively panel discussion moderated by Christof Fielstette, before attendees gathered for networking, drinks – and for some, a scenic tram tour through Basel.

Our conclusion
Future of Light 2025 once again demonstrated that the lighting industry is evolving -becoming more digital, connected, and creative than ever before.
